Synopsis: Toshiya is the perfect bassist for Dir en Grey - the only problem is, Kaoru can't stand him. As time wears on it becomes evident that the feeling is entirely mutual, but ambition and stubbornness holds the band together: neither Toshiya nor Kaoru will be the first to quit, and when attraction gets mixed up with animosity, it's obvious that something has to give...

On a Highway hits a roadblock

So guys, I am absolutely mortified to be doing this, but I'm having to cancel On a Highway.

I'm a perfectionist by nature, and particularly when it comes to writing because there is nothing I care about more. The reason I'm discontinuing OAH is because it's very sub-standard. 

The plotline is very weak, which would not have been a problem in itself, but my characterisation was much too poor to support such a lack of drive. For me, that's the worst thing, because I think the most important thing is to create believable characters that readers can relate to. I didn't do that in OAH. 

So I really would like to thank all of you who were kind enough to leave nice comments, because without those I probably would have thrown it in around Chapter Three. I am so sorry to do this, and I feel like the biggest dickhead ever, but I just absolutely can't do it. When I'm writing something I know is bad, it depresses me to the point of giving me writer's block. So, I hope you all understand that I really haven't taken this decision lightly, but I've reached the point where it's become unavoidable.
