andrew_in_drag | Rewriting A Momentary Lapse of Reason...

...Hereafter known as AMLOR, because that's a bloody long title.

I decided to rewrite this old, old, old fic of mine on the suggestion of

lady_sb. Honestly, I'd forgotten all about it. It was languishing in my old account,

hallelujah_hide, and on her recommendation I started reading it again and, just to blow my own horn, I like it.

I'm really enjoying the rewrite, too. I'm not changing much plot, dialogue, characterisation or much of anything, really - just tweaking so it reads better, ironing out bits that don't make sense. It's something that I should do with everything before I post, but life is short ~~and I am lazy~~.

I have up to ten chapters of it written now, so I can start progressing the fic from where I last left off - I turned the prologue into chapter one, because it really wasn't a prologue. It was just a...logue.

I seem to have a liking for conflicted Toshiya and naive, good-guy Kaoru.

Mood Killers: 'm' key sticking (I had the same problem when I was writing a fic three years ago, too. On a different laptop. Spooky.); continually typing 'aburptly' instead of 'abruptly'; lack of usual inspirational substances (alcohol, drugz, uni friends), since I'm back in the parental home for Easter.

Mood Enhancers: the realisation that the song "I'm Only Happy When It Rains" by Garbage pretty much describes my Toshiya all over, so listening to that againandagainandagain; the prospect of an empty house (parents off to China, seemingly out of the blue); and photographs, photographs, photographs.

So I would love more inspiration images, if anybody has them knocking around - whatever inspires you, I'd be really keen to know! Anything you can scrape together would be good, or any ideas you have - you never know what might end up being indispensable!

So let me know guys! We're all in this together, or something.

You have no idea how happy you made me when I read this XD And when you post it up again, people are gonna be introduced to such a nice piece of writing. The comm is so lacking good chaptered fics, which is what I commented last time as well (when you first posted it).

As for inspiration, at the end of last year there was a whole slew of it at the KaoxTotchi comm, mostly because we were doing a winter challenge.
